Research Opportunities
The research resources available at the Museum include more than 7,000 volumes in our Library, more than 400 cubic feet of archival materials and more than 7,000 photographs, in addition to roughly 3,000 artifacts, forming what is believed to be the largest collection of its kind outside governmental institutions.

Our artifact, archival and pictorial collections are currently closed to researchers due to our collections assessment project. During museum operating hours, library materials may be available for research.

We encourage you to contact these institutions to pursue your research topics:
The US Army Military History Institute at Carlisle Barracks: www.carlisle.army.mil/usamhi/
The National Archives, Mid-Atlantic Region: www.archives.gov/midatlantic/
The Historical Society of Pennsylvania: www.hsp.org
The Genealogical Society of Pennsylvania: www.genpa.org
